Benefits of the Dendrite Database System

We would like to provide an update and highlight the direct value realised as a result of the funding support provided for the implementation of the Dendrite database system. This investment has enabled the establishment of a transformative digital tool for our vascular service. The benefits being realised include the following:

  • Creation of a robust local database to record vascular surgical procedures in a structured manner.
  • Strengthening of audit capability, enabling routine accurate local audit and benchmarking of outcomes.
  • Improvement of research capability through consistent, reliable and standardised data capture.
  • Enhancement of clinical governance through improved oversight, traceability and analysis of procedural outcomes.
  • Automatic National Vascular Registry (NVR) submission – meeting national regulatory requirements, reducing manual data entry workload and ensuring improved compliance.

We would again like to express our thanks to SSCF Trustees. The clinical, organisational and regulatory benefits of this project are already being realised and will continue to scale as the database matures and more data is accumulated.
